About Me

“Taking care of yourself is not a selfish act.” -Leslie Knope

I am a psychotherapist who earned my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Southern California. Drawing from my own marginalized identities and lived experiences, I have witnessed the barriers to receiving treatment firsthand and understand the significance of being a clinician who is knowledgeable about how identities impact one’s journeys. Because of this, cultural humility, identity-affirmation, and social justice are important values to me and my practice.

I use empathy, creativity, curiosity, collaboration, and, when appropriate, humor, in my approach to therapy. I integrate a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Art Therapy. I am aware that therapy is not a one size fits all, and I work with the client to find the right approach.

Through various jobs and volunteer roles, I have developed the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds, identities, ages, and abilities. In previous positions, I have done the following:

  • Conduct individual, group, and couples psychotherapy sessions at USC WorkWell Center
  • Lead mindfulness groups for elementary-age children with Young and Healthy
  • Run enrichment programs for elders with cognitive and physical impairments
  • Provide crisis counseling through the national crisis text line

Some of clinical interests include, but are not limited to, mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, familial and relationship conflict, identity exploration, sexuality-related struggles, and grief. I also specialize in serving the Latinx community, LGBTQIA+, and older adult populations.
